On Mental Damage

So I was at work today helping this mother and his son with a pair of water shoes. The mother picked a pair off the shelf and asked me if I had them in a size 8 for her son. I proceeded to tell her that those were womens shoes. She then tells me that that's ok and that the pair of New Balances that he has on right now are women's shoes. I look down and sure enough he is wearing a pair of ladies New Balances.

Do you see anything wrong with this picture? This woman is putting ladies shoes on her son!!!! I mean it's not like they were hot pink or anything, but they were feminine nonetheless. And and the ones she wanted him to try on were purple.

Am I the only one here who thinks this is completely outrageous? No boy should have to wear a pair of ladies shoes EVER. Doesn't she realize how this is affecting his mind? What kind of message does that send to him? Pretty soon he'll be reaching into mommy's purse looking for lipstick to make his lips a little more colorful. I could understand if it were one of those styles of shoes where the men's and women's looked the same, but this is just rediculous. And what happens when some girl at school has those shoes on? The poor boy will be ridiculed until he cries, that's what will happen.

Parents, do not buy your boy girls shoes. I don't care how cool you think they might look. Girls might be able to wear guys stuff, but it just doesn't work the other way around. So that's all I have to say about that.

On Enemies

Imagine two kinds of people.

First, imagine.....

The person everyone wants to be around.
The person everyone wants to get to know.
The person who does good things for people.
The person who is working to make society better.
The person who makes you feel good about yourself.
The person who makes you laugh.
The person you can talk to.
The person who blesses you.
The person who prays for you.
The person who gives to you.
The person who cares about you.
Your Friend.

God calls us to love the Friends.

Now, imagine.....

The person who has nothing nice to say.
The person who is bitter.
The person who is continually angry.
The person who is set out to make your life miserable.
The person who refuses to like you.
The person who does you harm for no reason.
The person who curses you.
The person who uses you.
The person who takes from you.
The person who hates you.
Your Enemy.

God calls us to love the Enemies. Just as much as the Friends. Just like we would want to be loved.

I read about it the other day and I just can't stop thinking about it. It will change the way you look at the world.
